To deepen the Ambassadors’ understanding of the different Project Planet Love pathways and the possibilities for taking action.
To help the Ambassadors explore how their passions, interests and strengths can shape ideas within their chosen Project Planet Love group.
To explore how the things the Ambassadors care about can be transformed into ideas for positive environmental action.
To work creatively and collaboratively to generate exciting and realistic Project Planet Love ideas.
Understood the different Project Planet Love pathways and the different forms of action they represent.
Generated possible PPL ideas within their chosen pathway.
Built on and contributed to each other’s ideas, experiencing the power of collaboration and Ubuntu.
Left feeling excited about the possibilities for their Project Planet Love.
Key Message:
There are many different ways to take action for our planet. By sharing our ideas, listening to one another and working together, we can help everyone's Project Planet Love become stronger.

Deforestation is when large areas of forest are cleared, and every year the world loses millions of hectares of trees, an area bigger than Iceland. Forests are home to most of the animals and plants that live on land, so when the trees disappear, so do their homes.

No BE Here Now exercise this week.
Note:
Be mindful of any Ambassadors who were missing from last week’s session and bring them up to speed on the Marketplace tables. Include the other Ambassadors in doing this where possible.
Help anyone who missed the previous session find their Project Planet Love group. This could involve briefly explaining each table, letting them look at the description sheets or asking the Ambassadors already in the groups to explain them.
Time is precious in this session, so choose the quickest, most youth-centred approach.
Recap and Overview | 2 mins
Briefly reconnect the Ambassadors to their journey so far.
Ask “Who can remember what we explored together last week?”Take a few quick responses.
Say: “Last week, we visited the Marketplace to explore all the different ways in which the things we love can be used to take action for the planet. You also joined a Project Planet Love team! Today, you’re going to help each other come up with lots of great Project Planet Love ideas for each of your teams.”
Part 1: Ubuntu in Action | 2-3 mins
By now, the Ambassadors should know their Project Planet Love team.
This activity gives them a chance to bond with their new team, practise brainstorming and collaboration, and generate a rich bank of possible project ideas.
Most importantly, they will experience Ubuntu in action by using their creativity to help every Project Planet Love team become stronger.
Ask the Ambassadors to sit with their chosen Project Planet Love teams.
Ask: “How many of you remember our session on Ubuntu? Can anyone remember what Ubuntu means?”
Gather a few quick responses.
Remind them: “I am because we are, and since we are, I am
Explain: “Today, we’re going to put Ubuntu into action again. Although you’re sitting with your own Project Planet Love team, today’s challenge isn’t only about coming up with ideas for your own project. We’re going to use our ideas and creativity to help every Project Planet Love team.”
“Real changemakers don’t keep their best ideas to themselves. They share them, build on each other’s thinking and help one another succeed.”
“By the end of today’s challenge, every Project Planet Love team should have an envelope FULL of ideas gifted to them by everyone in this room.”
Part 2: How to Play | 2 mins
Facilitator Note: Please adjust this time to the number of teams you have in the room. You may not have Ambassadors sitting at every table or doing something linked to all of the project groups.
Give each team:
A stack of Post-it notes in their team colour.
2–3 black or dark felt-tip pens.
Their Project Planet Love envelope.
Ask everyone to also have their own pen to hand.
Ask each team to choose 2–3 scribes (explain what a scribe is).
Explain: “In a moment, we’re going to randomly choose one of our Project Planet Love themes. As soon as the theme is announced, your team will have exactly TWO minutes to come up with as many different project ideas as you can for that theme.”
“Every idea goes onto its own Post-it note. One idea = One Post-it note”
“Don’t spend ages deciding whether an idea is perfect. Get it down and keep your ideas flowing. You can build on someone else’s idea too.”
“Remember, the challenge is to think of things that the Year 7 Ambassadors could realistically do, but don’t be afraid to throw in a wild idea too. Sometimes a wild idea sparks a brilliant one!”
Remind them: “You’re not trying to beat the other Project Planet Love teams. You’re trying to help them. The better your ideas, the stronger somebody else’s project could become.”
Part 3: Let the Challenge Begin! | 16 - 20 mins
Protect the brainstorming rounds. The priority is for every Project Planet Love team to receive a bank of ideas from the whole Ambassador community. Keep transitions between rounds very quick:
Pick → Reveal → 2-minute brainstorm → Gift the Post-its → Next card.
Do not stop for whole-group feedback between rounds. Time is precious in this session.
Place the names of all the Project Planet Love groups represented in the room into a hat, basket or envelope:
Arty Artivists
Stir it up Storytellers
Game Changers
Green Fingers
Waste Warriors
Cool Campaigners
Bright Sparks
Play for the Planet
Green Gatherers
Invite one Ambassador from each group to come to the front and randomly select a name.
Ask them to hand the card to the facilitator.
Reveal the Project Planet Love theme to the room.
The Ambassador quickly returns to their team. As soon as they are seated: START THE CLOCK!
Every team has two minutes to generate at least one project idea, or as many as they can for that Project Planet Love group.
Encourage everyone to contribute. Remind the scribes that it’s, “One idea per Post-it note!”
Give occasional time calls: “One minute left!” “Thirty seconds!”
When the buzzer sounds: say: “PENS DOWN!”
Ask each team to gather their Post-it notes.
Then gift all the Post-it notes from that round to the Project Planet Love team whose card was selected and instruct them to place them into their Project Envelope.
Do not stop to discuss or give feedback on the ideas yet.
Draw the next Project Planet Love card and begin again.
Continue until every Project Planet Love group represented in the room has been explored.
Part 4: Open Your Idea Bank | 5 mins
Once every Project Planet Love group has had its turn, stop the game.
Say: “You’ve just spent the last few rounds sharing your creativity and gifting ideas to everybody else’s Project Planet Love.”
“Now it’s time to discover what everyone has gifted to YOU!”
Invite each team to open their Project Envelope and spread all their different-coloured Post-it notes across their table.
Point out the different colours.
Say: “Look at all those colours. These ideas didn’t just come from your team. They came from people all across this room.”
“That’s Ubuntu in action.”
Give the teams three simple instructions:
Read through some of the ideas people have given you.
Group similar ideas together.
Choose one or two ideas that excite your team the most.
Remind them: “You are NOT choosing your final project today. You’re simply noticing which possibilities spark your interest and make you want to find out more.”
This gives them a clear starting point for the next Project Planet Love planning session.
Part 5: Quick Share | 2-3 mins
If time allows, invite each Project Planet Love team to share:
"One idea we were given that really excited us was..."
Keep this very quick. One idea per team.
If there is less time, invite only a few teams to share.
If you are running out of time: Skip the whole-group sharing. Do not sacrifice the teams' time to open, read and explore their own idea banks. They can return to their ideas in the next Project Planet Love session.
Embed the Learning | 2- 3 mins
Bring it back to Ubuntu
Ask:
"What was it like having other people generate ideas for your project?"
"Did another team think of something you hadn't thought of?"
"Why might sharing our ideas make everyone's projects stronger?"
Take a few responses.
Say: "At the beginning of our programme, we explored the concept of Ubuntu. Roughly translated, this means, “I am because we are, and since we are, I am.”
This week we invite you to…
Consider - what Project Planet Love idea was your group most excited by? Tell us what that idea is and then show how excited you are about it by uploading a photo of:
A doodle you made
A single word
Your face
An emoji
Offer the energy checkout.
Then close the session: "Thank you for everything you brought to today's workshop, your ideas, your energy and the way you supported one another.
Remember next week, we will be …”
"Have a brilliant week, and we'll see you next time."
